GENERAL INFORMATION
How do I register a new domain name?

If you sign up with PremierComp and you do not
currently have a domain name, we'll handle the
domain registration for you. If you do currently
have a domain name, please refer to the section
below regarding how to modify your domain name.

If you would like to handle domain registration
yourself, you are welcome to do so. Otherwise, we'll
use the information submitted on your order form to
register your domain name.

We only charge $15.00 to register a domain name for
one year. That is more than $20 per year less than
what Network Solutions charges!
How much does PremierComp charge to handle domain name
registration?

PremierComp charges $15.00 for domain name
registration. We can also help you modify your
domain to point to our DNS servers at no cost.
What are the restrictions on the characters my
domain can contain?

We can have your domain name registered within 24-48
hours.

up with us, and your domain still doesn't work,

How do I modify an existing domain name
to work with PremierComp?

To make your domain work with your
PremierComp account you need to make
sure that your domain points to the
following name servers:
Primary Server Hostname:
NS1.SECURE.NET
Primary Server Address:
192.220.124.10
Secondary Server Hostname:
NS2.SECURE.NET
Secondary Server Address:
192.220.125.10

There are many different organizations
that allow you to register a domain
name. Your domain will need to be
modified through same organization it
was registered. The procedure for
modifying a domain at each of these
different registrars will vary. If you
are un-sure where your domain name was
registered, PremierComp will be glad
to help you transfer your domain to
our servers. Please email
support@premiercomp.net and let us
know what your domain is and we can
guide you through the process.
How long does it take to modify an
existing domain?

Depending on the registrar used to
register your domain name originally,
the time to modify an existing domain
name can vary.

When a domain modification is
accepted, something called domain
propagation needs to take place.
-
Before a transfer takes place, the
"Internet" knows where your domain
name is, and remembers it. This is
referred to as caching. When your
domain name is modified, the
"Internet" will still remember your
domain name, and direct traffic to
where it was previously hosted. The
cache will eventually expire, and the
"Internet" will start finding your
domain name in the correct location.
This process can take anywhere from 5
minutes to 7 days, but in most cases,
it takes 24-48 hours. This time will
also be different for each ISP, so
someone connecting through a different
ISP than you may be able to see your
domain name before you can or visa
versa.
